Intercom Heights
Intercom Heights is where modern indie rock meets cinematic nostalgia. The Austin, Texas-based next-wave band—Harris Thurmond (guitar/vocals), Josie Fluri (bass/vocals) and Andy Gregg (drums)—blends gauzy, shoegaze-tinted guitars and hypnotic rhythms with distinct dual vocals that blur the line between past and present. Emerging from the vibrant Austin music scene, the band has quickly built a reputation for delivering immersive live sets that translate their studio atmosphere directly to the stage.
The band first captured attention with their hazy, reverb-soaked 2023 debut Night Measures. The record earned critical nods from independent music mainstays, with Obscure Sound praising its intricate textures and Beatbuzz highlighting the band’s unique melodic instincts. Back home, local champions The Austin Chronicle and KUTX rallied behind their distinctive sound, helping the band transition from a studio project into a formidable live act.
International & Domestic Touring
Building on their momentum in 2025, the band toured internationally across Ireland and the UK, including a performance at Forest Fest outside of Dublin. Back in the US, Intercom Heights returned to the Pacific Northwest as well as playing extensive dates in their home of Texas.
Now, Intercom Heights sharpens their sound, adding a more live band, guitar-focused energy in their latest recordings. Their upcoming album, Transmitter, marks a natural evolution for the band. Anchored by singles like “Hold You Up” and “Consequences,” the new [album?] focuses Intercom Heights’ vision while upping the urgency. It is future-facing indie rock with a nostalgic heart.
